Chris Parfitt is a partner with the law firm of Deneweth, Vittiglio & Sassak, P.C. in Troy, Michigan. He received his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Detroit and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan. Mr. Parfitt's practice areas include construction and business law including litigation, arbitration, liens, claims, contract review, and employment issues for management such as wrongful discharge and discrimination. Mr. Parfitt's practice also includes surety matters, including payment and performance bond claims. He represents clients in state and federal courts and before the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Parfitt is currently a member of the American Bar Association (Construction Industry Forum), State Bar of Michigan (Labor and Employment Law Section), and Oakland County Bar Association: He is authorized to practice in all Michigan courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. The firm is an associate member of the Associated General Contractors of America.

Mr. Parfitt's employment law practice includes employee handbooks, avoiding discrimination and wrongful discharge claims, litigation, wage and overtime issues, FMLA, harassment and discrimination defense, employee discipline, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Mr. Parfitt has counseled business owners, contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers on a variety of construction issues, including contract interpretation, bidding, change orders, design issues, claims for defects, unforeseen conditions, and delay damages. Mr. Parfitt's legal practice with regard to both construction and business law includes contract review and negotiation, litigation, and arbitration of disputes. Mr. Parfitt has lectured for the Associated General Contractors and Lorman Education Services on both construction and employment law, and has lectured for the Troy Chamber of Commerce on employment law.
