Stephen (Steve) Strickland joined Deneweth, Vittiglio & Sassak, P.C. as an Associate in 2023 following fifteen years of experience working in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.  Upon graduation from Wayne State University Law School in 2007, Mr. Strickland began his career in corporate procurement and contract management at an ENR Top-10 Contractor, then shifted to the jobsite as a Project Engineer.  Throughout his AEC career, he has worked for owners, contractors, and technology companies, serving in roles as a Project Manager, Owner’s Representative, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) / Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Manager.

Mr. Strickland has demonstrated success working with stakeholders of all types on construction projects across the United States and abroad, spanning all phases of the project lifecycle under multiple project delivery methods.  He is well versed in Lean construction methodologies, BIM / VDC implementation, and the AIA Digital Practice Documents, with extensive experience drafting BIM Execution Plans.

Mr. Strickland applies his industry experience to help contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners navigate the complex challenges inherent in construction law.  He advises on a broad range of construction-related matters, including, but not limited to, change order disputes, delay claims, material defects, and lien claims.  He also assists clients in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
